derby days

Last week was Sigma Chi's "Derby Days." It was so much fun! There were different events everyday and of course DG ROCKED it! Silvia and I were in the food fight and we won!! It was so so so much fun!

We had formal on Friday and I went with JJay! It was awesome! We went up to Deer Valley and had dinner and then there was a dance and we just hung out! It was so much fun and an amazing first formal! I can't wait to go to more!

I can't wait for our formal in a few weeks! And this week should be tons of fun too! It's our Anchor Splash! Tons of fun events!! Tuesday from 6pm-9pm we have Anchor Slam (basketball tournament) in the Hyper Building! Thursday is a Flapjack Dinner from 9pm-12am at the Deeg! And Saturday is our Halloween party from 9:30pm-11:30pm in the Captain's Room at Fort Douglas! Be sure to come to all of our fun activities!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

Ahh I'm so bad at keeping this updated. But today's sister is Callie Lyman :)

This is my sister Callie. She is so freaking adorable and so much fun to hang out with :) I love all the time I get to spend with her cause she is just amazing in every way! She is such a true and loyal friend and I know she will always have her sisters' backs. She is so down to earth and a great person to be able to call your sister! This is my sister Karen! Karen seriously is one of the sweetest girls I know. She is so awesome and such a fun girl to hang around! She is so stylish and I'm really jealous of her! She's a wayy loyal friend and will ALWAYS have her girls' backs no matter what! She cares deeply about the ones she loves and I am so glad I've been able to get to know her over the past few months! Yesterday was crazy busy so I didn't get a chance to do a sister spotlight yesterday. But yesterday's sister was Katie Knight :)

This is my sister Katie! I love her wayyy too much for words. She has become one of the girls I've grown really close to already and she always makes me so happy whenever I'm around her. She loves to have fun and go do random things with me when no one else will! She knows random facts about me that not many other people know and I love that I can already trust her after only knowing her a few months! Katie is beautiful and so funny and outgoing. I wish I could be half the person she is cause she is just amazing!! I can't wait to become even better friends cause I know we'll be friends for the rest of our lives! :) I love you Katie!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

This is my sister Jourdan! I wish I got to spend more time with her but she is busy as can be! None of us really saw much of her at the beginning cause of her crazy schedule but as we've been able to spend a little more time with her, we've all grown to love her and we love any time we get to spend with her! She's such a cute, funny girl and she is so full of joy and spunk! I hope her schedule gets less busy cause I would love to spend more time with her and get to know her better cause we all love her to death!! I can't wait to see where the year takes us! home sweet home

So after the best week and a half of my life, I am finally HOME. It's so nice to be back. I've really missed Utah!! That was seriously the best fall break I could've ever dreamed of though.

When I got back, I went to Dodo with McKay. Soo yummy. When I got back to my house at like eight, I laid down on my floor and the next thing I knew, it was 1:30am. I moved to my Lovesac and woke up at nine this morning (hence why there was no post last night). Oops :/ At least I got caught up on my sleep though! I can't wait for meeting tonight so I can see all my DG girls!! I've missed them so so much!!! Sig's Derby Days starts today too so that should be a lot of fun!! Oh and I'm going to formal with JJay on Friday! This is gonna be a great week!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

Okay, so I passed out last night before I could do my blog haha so yesterday's sister was Allie Girgen :)

This is my sister Allie! She is freaking GORGEOUS, first off. And such a little sweetheart! Like seriously I love her to death. I love every second I get to spend with her cause she's so nice, funny, and fun to be with! Any time I get to spend with her is bound to be a blast!! I can't wait to see how great of friends we become cause she's one of the most amazing people I know! I'm so excited to get to know her even better! I love you Allie! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

oregon!

So basically, I'm in love with Oregon. It is sooo amazing. U of O actually feels like a real college campus. Hahah we went to this Mexican place for breakfast today and it was really, really good! Then we went and got some coffee and to the DUCK STORE. Yes. They have a place called the Duck Store. It's where they sell all of their school gear like sweatshirts, hats, etc. I was in love. I am officially ducked out!! :) Hahah but really though. Then we went to this AMAZING store where there was aisle after aisle of extremely random and pointless junk but I wanted everything. Like I literally would transfer to this school just to have that store. After that, we went to this little place and got flavored Red Bull and carmeled apple smoothies. Both are SOOO good. New favorite thing, for sure. But after that we just went back to Marissa's dorm and hung out for a little bit. Made some great music videos :) Met her new boy. He's great, I approve! We were going to go to the mall but the bus wasn't leaving for an hour so we wandered and found VooDoo Donuts, which is the BEST donut shop ever. Most unique donuts I've ever seen and they were so good!! Then we went to some Korean restaurant and it was great! We skyped Hendrik for a while! I miss him so much already :( Now we're doing homework, so that sucks, but it's been such a fun day!!

I'm not looking forward to going home cause that means school starts Monday, but I can't wait to see all my DG girls again :) ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

Today's sister is Katie Garner :)

This is my sister Katie! Katie is adorable :) She is so beautiful and such a nice and amazing girl! She is never rude to anyone and always has something positive to contribute! Whenever you're around her, you're instantly in a good mood! She is such a sweetheart and such a great, loyal friend. She'll always have her friend's backs and that is something I think is one of the best qualities you can find in a person! I am so excited to get to know her better!! I love you Katie! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

what a day :)

So I left Germany this morning. So sad :( I miss it so much already! Although, it is nice to be back in the states. I was finally getting used to everything though!! Such a bummer! I want to go back!!

I had the longest day of traveling. I went from Frankfurt to Atlanta (10 hours) then Atlanta to Vegas (5 hours) then Vegas to Salt Lake (an hour) and Salt Lake to Eugene (1.5 hours). Golllllll it felt like ages! But it was all worth it cause I surprised Marissa and showed up at her dorm in Oregon!!! I've missed her so much!! I can't wait to spend the next two days with her!! Yay for free flights :)

Today's sister is Allie Fredbo :)

This is my sister Allie. I freaking love this girl to death! She's beautiful and so much fun to be around!! Let's not forget that she's my racer buddy!! She ski races!! WOO love that!!!! :) She's probably amazing! But anywhooo. She's the life of the party and is so awesome! I really can't wait for us to bond and become best friends cause I just think she's the best!! She's so funny and anytime I'm with her, I know I'm bound to laugh and have a good time! the last day :(

Today was my last full day in Germany :( It was sooo fun though! We went out into Pfungstadt and wandered the town a little and I tried this delicious food called döner. I don't even know what it was, but it's something I was told I had to try while I was here! After that, we went to this awesome swimming pool! It had probably 10 different pools and each one had a different theme to it. Like one of them, if you went underwater, you could hear music. And another had a rainforest theme and made it feel like you were in the rainforest because of the lighting and what not. It was so much fun! I also met his grandparents today! They were really really nice! I loved them!! Germany is really growing on me. I'm excited to be coming home, but I'm so sad to be leaving. I've met so many great people and I'm finally getting used to the culture and everything. I even started picking up on what people were talking about, although I still have to talk to them like they're five years old so they can understand my English. Haha. I had to say goodbye to Alix tonight. She's become like a sister to me. Hendrik even thinks we look like sisters. She is such a cute little girl and I'm going to miss her! Their family has been so great to me and so generous and I am really going to miss all of them too!!

So, I decided I wanted to curl my hair today.. Yeah, well, that didn't work out so well. I started doing the first curl and did everything how I normally would. When I unwrapped my hair, it kind of stuck and I got it off and it looked like it had stuff stuck in it. I figured the curling iron must have had something on it. I went to go pick it out and my hair broke and fell out. Yeah. It burnt/melted my hair. It smelled soo bad. And now I'm missing a nice chunk on the underlayer of my hair. It's so short, I just about cried. I'm over it now though. Note to self: don't try to curl your hair in a foreign country.

Today's sister is Sierra DeBry :)

I love Sierra. She is so fun to be around and I've gotten to know her pretty well over the past year or so! She is the life of the party and loves to go boyhunting (so if you need someone to go with you to go hang out with boys, she's the one to call!). She's down to go do random stuff too! Basically, she's just an all-around FUN girl to hang with :) I can't wait to see how much closer we get and all the fun memories we make!! I love you Sierra!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

more germany :)

Today was, yet again, another great day! I talked to my baby girl Cate on skype for a while and it was so so great :) Then, we went into a town called Darmstadt. We looked around at some historic stuff and did some shopping, of course! Hendrik told me that his grandparents tell him stories about how over 80% of this town was destroyed in World War II and they remember the entire town being in constant flames and tons of other gruesome memories that I will spare you :) But I brought an extra bag in case my suitcase was too full on the way home and I'm pretty sure it's going to be stuffed full of all my chocolate and gummy bears! Anywayssss, I got this awesome jacket that almost every teenage girl in Europe has and I love it! It's so warm and comfy :) It's pretty much just the best. We went to this great cafe while we were there and had yummy coffee, so that was great too! Later, we met up with Hendrik's parents and sister and went to this delicious restaurant for dinner where we had typical German food. It was soo good! I'm really loving it here and it's gonna be weird going back to the US cause I'm adjusting to how everything here works and the culture and everything. Plus, I'm meeting tons of people and I don't want to leave them!! The only things that have been hard about being here are not having all of the amazing food I'm used to (not that the food here isn't great too, it's just not the same!) and not knowing the language. I'm starting to pick up on little parts that I didn't already know but I've also gotten used to just tuning out what people are saying and only coming into the conversation when I hear a word I know or when Julia and her friends start speaking English to me! :) It's weird though because I have to talk really slow and sometimes rethink what I'm saying and repeat it in a different way that is easier for people to understand. Most people understand a lot of English though, so that's always a plus!

Today's sister is McCall Cottle :)

This is my sister McCall. I adore her sooo much :) She is one of my best friends and I love her to death! She already knows so much about me and I love being able to spend time with her! She is such a loyal friend and she is great at listening. I love that she doesn't need to go do something crazy every night and she's down to just chill. Whenever I'm with her, we have a great time, no matter what we are doing! I love our deep chats and our sleepovers, ice cream dates, and late nights up at the sig :) She is such an amazing and beautiful girl and I can't wait to see what the next four years bring!! Today we just kinda relaxed. It was nice though! We had to stay home with Alix and I taught her how to make American cookies cause she loves baking! Then tonight, Hendrik's friend had a party for his 18th birthday so we went to that. It was a ton of fun and I met lots of cool people! Other than that, we were just hanging out around the house.

Today's sister is Kenzie Carter :)

This is my sister Kenzie. Obviously she's got to be cool, I mean we have the same name :) AND she's a twin. How much cooler can you get?? But really, she's so awesome. She loves to have fun and she's the life of the party! I remember on one of the first nights, she made me go dance with her and that was one of the funnest nights so far this year! She's a great friend and can always cheer you up if you're having a bad day. She's crazy, in a good way, and doesn't care what people think! It's gonna be so great getting to know her better so I can't wait!! I love you Kenzie!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

So today was day two in Germany and I LOVED it! Hendrik took me to Frankfurt today and we went shopping! It was so much fun! We saw tons of historic stuff and walked all around the city! We even went into some government building and got kicked out! Hahah but there are tons of awesome stores and even one with JUST gummy bears! It was soo sweet! When we got back, he took me over to his friend's house and introduced me to a ton of his friends! It was so great! I've been having so much fun! I don't ever want to leave!!

So today was way fun with Känzie. Since I m the best sight seeing guide ever, I didn't even had a plan and just did it all spontaneous. Thats prob the reason why we got lost like 5429238478543 times. But somehow we always got lost to the sickest places (as you can see on top :)).


So basically, Germany is amazing. I love it here and I can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings :) ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

Today's sister is Carol Carter :)

This is my sister Carol :) She is beautiful and amazing!! Let's not forget that she's a TWIN! Sooo cool, right? Carol is so chill and just down to earth and I love that about her :) She's down to just relax and do something laid back but she's always down to go do something crazy too! She's an awesome friend and someone you can totally trust with everything! I can't wait for us to bond even more and become super close friends cause she's just the best!!! I love you Carol!! ΔΓ ♥ ⚓

germany!!!!

So, after a full 24 hours of traveling, I finally made it to Germany today :) I love it here! And it is sooo good to see Hendrik again!! It's been way too long!! I met all of his teammates today and they seemed way nice! We went on a hike with his family and some family friends up to this castle today and that was awesome!

The castle was really cool and the whole hike was really pretty! Although, I must say, I'm EXHAUSTED now. Jetlag + hike + no sleep before = no bueno. I've been introduced to tons of new foods that are all way good and I never would have tried them before! Something weird, most of the drinks are sparkling. So like most water has gas in it. Same with the apple juice. It's good though!
